He’s the best doctor in his field, and the sole reason I came here as an intern.
He hasn’t talked to me once, but it looks like he’ll finally have to.
Because I got him into trouble, and now we have to do night shifts together.
My one stupid mistake put him in a compromising position.

I came here to learn from him, and really, that’s all I wanted from him.
I admire him for his calm demeanor, for his steady hands in a situation of chaos.
But there is a fire somewhere behind his eyes that is getting to me.
And sometimes, just sometimes, I cannot stop the flood inside of me.

It makes my skin tingle where his hands happen to touch mine.
It makes me want to feel if his body runs as hot as his kind is famous for.
It makes me forget that this is forbidden, that he’s my boss, and I’m an intern.
And I know I have only two options: ignore my feelings and focus on my job. Or…

Or I could do something truly stupid.
